The Rhino is truly on a different artistic level that is unique and intriguing. Bvumai is a sculpture of a black rhino found in Zimbabwe, and the name Bvumai means to acknowledge or accept. The rhino is made of ironwood, one of the largest and longest living trees, reaching 45 feet in height and have a lifespan of 1500 years! As the name depicts, the wood is very hard, but nevertheless Bvumai is made from the marrow of the wood after removing all the bark. Unlike the lifespan of the ironwood, the black Rhinoceros has become endangered and has a short lifespan of 35-50 years.
